LOVE YOUR ACCENT?

Updated: Apr 16

As a non-native English speaker, your accent isn’t just how you pronounce words; it’s a window into your life story.

It reflects your region, your roots, the people who've influenced you, and even your unique personal style.

You accent shapes how you’re heard and sometimes even how you’re perceived.

It’s as much a part of your identity as your personality, and can have a major impact on your confidence and relationships at work and beyond.

  • How strong is your accent when you speak English?

  • Do you have concerns about it?

  • Do you like your accent?

  • And does any of this even matter?

Before I start training someone, I make a point of asking learners these questions.

Answers vary, some say pronunciation is torture, others say their accent makes them feel ridiculous.

Most people are uncertain about how they sound in English, and I’ve yet to find someone who likes how they sound in recordings… until they can hear the improvements in training.

Most people don’t know the answers to the above questions.

They never ask, and no-one ever tells them.

Your colleagues, managers and clients rarely correct you when you mispronounce a word you out of politeness.

Yes, embrace your accent. Celebrate it. Share it with the world.

I want to help you with your confidence and clarity so that you can enjoy speaking English, be yourself, and experience great conversations.
